Marcy
Wuestenhoefer

Marcy Wuestenhoefer was born
in Greenwood, MS. She attended junior high and high school at
Pillow Academy where she was a member of the dance team for six
years. after graduating in 2000, she moved on to become a Delta
Dancer at Mississippi Delta Community College training under the
direction of Betty Aden. While at Mississippi Delta,
Wuestnhoefer realized her passions for dance, choreography, and
the performing arts. She still continues to work with Aden every
summer as an instructor and choreographer at The Betty Aden
Dance Camp.
In 2002, Marcy began working
for The Lacy Tollison Studio of Dance located in Indianola, MS.
She remained there for the next four years. In 2005, Marcy
decided it was time to open a studio of her own hoping to
inspire local students to share her passion for dance and the
performing arts. Expressions Dance Studio, located in her
hometown, is now in its 6th year with two competing dance
troops. The Jr. and Sr. XPress have received top honors at
numerous competitions under the direction of Wuestenhoefer. Her
choreography has been seen in Disneyworld in Orlando Florida,
Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, and of course Mississippi. Not
straying too far from roots, Marcy also became the director and
choreographer for the Pillow Academy Varsity Dancers in 2005 and
presently remains on staff. She has also choreographed or
numerous studios, performance groups, and dance teams across the
state.
She also enjoys staying
involved with her local “performing arts” community. Marcy has
served as choreographer for numerous senior plays and at The
Greenwood Little Theatre. Credits include: Jesus Christ
SuperStar, Beauty and the Beast, Hankerin for a Hillbilly, Big
Bad Wolf, and most recently Nunsense.
Marcy continues to develop
her talent by continuing her training in all styles of dance.
She has attended dance conventions studying under some of the
worlds top choreographers. She has trained under and been
inspired by the likes of Mia Michaels, Tyce Diorio, Robert
Hoffman, Laurianna Gibson, Dave Scott, Matt Cady, and Sonya
Tayeh. Their work has been featured on So You Think You Can
Dance, Making the Band, the popluar “Step Up” series, and many
commercials & latest music videos. While Marcy still enjoys
learning and performing herself, she is thankful and excited she
is able to pass the art of dance onto others and is blessed to
have the support of her family, friends, and local community.
